I’m Sarah, and this is Mindful & Me - a reflective wellbeing space for women in midlife. I write from lived experience about the quiet complexities of this stage of life, offering gentle, practical support around perimenopause, seasonal living and slowing down, often inspired by real life and sometimes by the world around us.
I share thoughtful reflections on wellbeing, hormonal changes, and midlife transitions to help women feel supported and seen.
I’m a woman in my early fifties, a mum to a teenage daughter, and someone who has learned more from the messy bits of life than I ever expected. I’ve always loved nature, yoga, and moments of stillness, but it was navigating my own midlife shifts - especially perimenopause - that brought a new depth to my understanding of wellbeing. Some days that shows up in reflections from a walk in the woods; other days it’s noticing how seasons affect mood and energy; or it might be a personal insight that feels worth writing down.
Mindful & Me grew out of that ongoing exploration. It isn’t a place for quick fixes or rigid advice; it’s a place for thoughtful reflection, gentle reassurance, and honest conversation about how life changes and what we can do to feel a little more grounded and a little less alone.
I don’t have everything figured out, and I never will. What I can offer is a companionable voice, shared experience, and the kind of practical perspective that comes from living this life rather than theorising about it.
If you’d like to connect or say hello, you can reach me through the Contact page or find me on Instagram. And if you want reflections and stories delivered with a sense of calm, my monthly newsletter brings them together in a slower, steady way.
My journey
My journey into midlife wellbeing wasn’t something I planned. Like many women, it arrived quietly, through changes in energy, mood, and perspective, and later through navigating perimenopause itself. I found myself needing to slow down, listen more closely to my body, and question ways of living that no longer felt supportive.
Alongside this, writing became a way to make sense of what was changing. Not to fix or optimise, but to notice, reflect, and feel less alone in it. Over time, that practice grew into Mindful & Me, alongside a growing desire to support other women navigating similar seasons of life.
This space isn’t built from expertise or perfection, but from lived experience. From learning what helps, what doesn’t, and from a genuine wish to offer reassurance, connection, and support through shared understanding in midlife.
Reflections & Mindful Moments
Much of what I share begins with small moments - a thought, a walk, a shift in mood, or something noticed in everyday life. Some of these reflections live here and on the blog; others are shared more informally over on Instagram.
If you enjoy quieter observations and real-life reflections, you’ll often find me there, sharing moments as they unfold.
